Based in Rutherfordton, North Carolina, TD Renovations is a new flooring and remodeling company that specializes in tile and stone, backsplashes, bathrooms, and flooring. Owners Tom and Denise** wanted to reach potential customers in the relatively rural area around Rutherfordton. While business cards and word-of-mouth were effective, the website served as a portfolio of past work.
Gallery of Past Work
With many services, examples of past projects make the most persuasive argument for a sale. Tom had been doing tile work for more than a decade in Florida and elsewhere, and pictures allowed him to show evidence of his expertise. When future customers browse through the galleries, they see proof of his skill in different styles of work. The images are also useful in helping customers articulate which type of bench or tile offset they prefer. Some concepts are simply easier to comunicate with pictures.
Adapting with a Growing Business
Thanks to local contacts and unpaid promotion on Facebook, TD Renovations is currently getting enough business to stay busy. As their network of local contacts expands, Tom and Denise may choose to specialize in a narrower niche of the remodeling business. One of the strengths of a robust website is that it’s easy to expand the number of pages about a specific subtopic without undermining the overall domain authority. If business started to slow, a series of Facebook ads or blog posts could generate new traffic.
**Similar to Sarah Blackmon (the mural artist at sarahblackmonart.com), the owners of TD Renovations are close relatives of Josh Shelton. Denise Rizzo tricked Josh into hiking ~500 miles on the Camino del Santiago, but she also gave birth to him, so he probably still owes her.
